Many front offices in the energy trading sector face significant challenges in their daily work due to fragmented landscapes and legacy systems: The inherent complexity of energy trading in general, as well as added dynamics brought on by the energy transition make this a particularly interesting field of engagement, affecting the entire value-added chain. In this talk we’ll give insights into our experiences from recent projects involving transitioning front office processes – from strategy and change management to implementing third party and proprietary solutions. We’ll also discuss some of the technologies used and recent trends observed. The scope and topic is directed at both practitioners and students, as well as participants from academia – not least since scope, use-case and implementation of modelling approaches is strongly affected by front-office transitions.
