Curriculum Vitae:
Since 2024, Pascal Hasenmaier has been a doctoral scholar at the Chair of Energy Trading and Finance (Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Kiesel) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, which is part of the House of Energy, Climate & Finance (HECF). His research focuses on the game-theoretical and control-theoretical extension of integrated assessment models (IAMs) in climate economics. In particular, he builds upon the Nobel Prize-winning DICE model to incorporate non-cooperative behavior, endogenous R&D efforts, climate tipping points, and migration in a VUCA world.
He holds a Master of Science in Markets & Firms from the University of Duisburg-Essen, with a focus on risk management and decision theory. His master’s thesis on game-theoretical approaches to climate policy (graded 1.0, the highest grade achievable) laid the foundation for his current doctoral research.
He also completed graduate-level courses at MIT and Cambridge Assessment International Education, covering topics such as antifragility, probability, and education for gifted learners.
Additional information on academic activities, teaching experience, and international projects can be found on his LinkedIn profile.
